Hi Steve, both the RPPs and Nikons will be better for different shoots. The RPPs have perfect edge to edge sharpness and no chromatic aberrations so some people will prefer them for that reason. The RPPs are also about 4 times the size and weight of a similar Nikon and have perfectly smooth focus and iris rings making them great for cinema shoots. Nikons will cover the full FF35 frame of the FF35 Scarlet and Epic so they will be great for shooting stills. They are also very light weight and will be nice for hand held shots. You have to deal with a 1.2 - 1.6 crop factor when using Nikons on an S35 sensor so it will be tougher to get wide angle shots.

RPPs: best for S35, 5k, cinema style shooting (focus pulling), no crop factor on S35.

Nikons: best for FF35 still shooting, lightweight rigs, and much cheaper.
