Jannard Buys $20 Million Dollar Mansion for Guests of RED Digital Cinema

RED News

Jim Jannard has just purchased a $20 million dollar, 7,500 square foot mansion on a 2 acre lot in the Hollywood hills for guests of RED Digital Cinema.  The mansion was designed in 1962 by “architect to the stars” Hal Levitt.  A second generation modernist, Levitt is known for designing spacious mansions for Hollywood’s elite, including Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston and Debbie Reynolds.

The interpenetration of the indoors and outdoors was used extensively throughout his projects. Large glass surfaces, interior courtyards, and surprising entry sequences were used throughout his residential work in efforts to blur the boundary between the interior and exterior. In many of the homes he designed a solid large-scale door appears from the street as the entrance, but the door will lead instead to a protected courtyard. more…

This style is evident in the above aerial image of the house.  Here is the original article in the Wall Street Journal: www.online.wsj.com/article/410-trousdale-place Our only question: does buying a Scarlet score you an invite??

The house sits on the edge of a hill high above Beverly Hills and looks out over Hollywood and the greater LA area.  We don’t have any pictures from the house itself but these are views from streets nearby:

Jannard has also recently purchased this Fiji island.  No word on when RED fans are invited.

    Note to Jim Jannard:

Now that you’ve bought that Fiji island how about taking some Epic cameras down there and shooting some 5K vids of the beaches, turqoise blue waters, palm trees & island girls.

Shoot some videos like that & show us THEM as samples. That’s what I want to see at 5K.
